What stays the same

If your team already talks on Zello, the everyday work does not change:

Sensors in the channel
No built-in sensor input. Alarms from sensors would be a custom build on the developer API.
Temperature, water, door, motion and power sensors raise alarms on the radios, phones and console.
An alarm someone accepts
No alarm workflow for sensors. Customer requests from QR Assist can be accepted.
The alarm stays open until someone accepts it and closes when the sensor is back to normal.
Waking a sleeping team
A call alert repeats every minute. With the app closed, it arrives as a push notification.
Every phone in the group rings like a call, even with the app closed. Whoever answers is on air.
SOS
Emergency alerts on Plus and Enterprise: ten seconds of audio and location to a set channel.
A separate SOS reaches the whole organisation across groups, nothing mutes it.
Dispatcher at a computer
Dispatch Hub, a desktop app. The dispatcher talks only in channels they were added to.
Console in the browser: hears every group and talks into any of them without joining.
Temporary access
Sign-in links expire; shared devices can be used by shift.
Accounts and channels carry an end date and close on their own; the history stays.

Questions

Can we keep our radios?

Yes. PRIVOX runs on Android PoC radios with a hardware PTT key — the same kind of radio Zello runs on. Tell us the model and we set up its keys.

Can Zello and PRIVOX work at the same time?

Yes. During the pilot one site works on PRIVOX while the other sites stay on Zello.

Where are our conversations and data?

On a PRIVOX server — in our cloud or on your premises. With your own server, voice, messages and locations stay inside your perimeter.

Which sensors can we connect?

Temperature, humidity, water leak and level, doors, motion and power — over Wi-Fi or LoRaWAN — plus alarms from controllers you already have via webhook, e-mail or MQTT.
